Announced during the first week of January 2024, the UK government’s new “Civil Nuclear Roadmap” aims to drastically scale up the nation’s nuclear energy capabilities. The plan targets a fourfold increase in nuclear power generation capacity—from current levels to 24 gigawatts (GW) by the year 2050.
