Mounting Optics
The PDP Pro-X’s optics-ready feature allows for the installation of various red dot sights. For this review, I chose the Vortex Defender-ST. This optic is known for its durability and excellent glass clarity. However, it requires a compatible adapter plate due to its DeltaPoint Pro (DPP) footprint.

The Forward Controls PDP v2 DPP plate was my choice, making it easy to secure the optic with the provided screws and Loctite.
Trigger Performance
The Pro-X boasts an exceptional trigger, featuring a flat aluminum design with a 4.5-pound pull weight. Its tuned sear engagement ensures a remarkably clean break with minimal creep. This trigger’s responsive nature facilitates rapid follow-up shots, enhancing overall shooting experience.

Compensator for Enhanced Control
The Parker Mountain Machine (PMM) compensator not only adds to the firearm’s aesthetics but, as noted by PMM, reduces muzzle climb by 30–35% when using 115-grain ammunition. This feature significantly improves recoil management, making it easier to bring the firearm back on target for follow-up shots.

Grip and Frame Design
The PDP Pro-X features a polymer frame reinforced with a steel slide, complemented by an aluminum magwell for optimized performance. This composition effectively balances lightweight design and structural integrity, ensuring user comfort and effective handling.
The grip is ergonomically designed and textured to provide adequate traction without causing discomfort during extended use.

Performance on the Range
In testing, the PDP Pro-X performed exceptionally well, handling various ammunition types without any malfunctions. My primary load of HOP Munitions 147-grain Poly ammunition, along with 115-grain and 124-grain FMJ rounds, all operated smoothly under standard conditions.

Conclusion
The Walther PDP Pro-X PMM Compact 4.6 is an impressive firearm that combines a superior trigger, effective recoil management, and exceptional reliability in a versatile package. Whether for duty, training, or recreational shooting, it stands out in its category. Stay tuned for a more extended review later this summer.
