My friend John Gordon is a best-selling author and speaker known for his “One Word” challenge. Choose a word for the new year. I don’t have any resolutions, just one word that will give me a mission, passion, and purpose for this year. A few words to help you stay focused and do your best in 2025.
My words for 2025 are “become greater.”
Greater is the comparative form of great. In other words, more than just great, it’s even better. What a goal to aim for!
I would appreciate it if you could say “GREATER” in the new year. You will have a better year than ever before. And a better life than the one you are experiencing now.
Overcome the barriers that hold you back from living a beautiful life
I want to inspire you to believe in a better future. Your joy in life will grow, your purpose in life will grow, and your faith in God will grow. This year brings you greater personal growth, greater spiritual maturity, greater financial freedom, greater health, and better relationships.
We can hope and pray for greater results. God is instilling in us something greater, a reality greater than what we are experiencing, a greater future for us and our loved ones, and a vision that God has ordained for us. It contains the wish for greater freedom to do things.
Give yourself permission to live a better life. Step into who you want to be. Please stop playing small games. There must be something bigger for you. God wants to develop your ability to have greater responsibility, greater influence, and greater impact. God is preparing you for a better life.
3 deep New Year’s resolutions to make when you feel helpless in chaotic times
God has made you do greater things than you could ever imagine. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if you believe in me, you will do the same things that I have done; and even greater things will you do, because I am returning to my Father.” he said. (John 14:12)
How can we be greater than Jesus? He raised people from the dead, told them the future, and changed the world forever. We cannot do better in quality than Jesus, but collectively we can do better in quantity.
The key is to believe, to have the belief that it is possible to do greater things, achieve greater things, and become greater. This is your chance to have a better year.
Need something bigger? I think so. We need greater wisdom, greater opportunity, and greater fulfillment. We need something bigger in our lives, our families, and our communities.
New Year’s resolutions: There’s no reason this can’t include faith goals, pastor urges
A better year means a year like we’ve never seen before. It will be a year that exceeds previous years.
Can you imagine a year when we have more resources? Replacing scarcity with abundance will be a game changer. Can you imagine a year with more unity? Moving from division to understanding will positively change our culture.
Can you imagine a year filled with greater love? Relationships would be mended and mended. Can you imagine a year in which more efforts will be made? Many things that have not been done before will finally be done.

Trust that God will do greater things in your life than you can imagine this year. Even in impossible situations, you can believe in something bigger. Even in the face of disappointment, you can persevere and strive for greater things. By committing more than ever before, you can choose to do bigger things.
The path to a better life is not about unstoppable momentum or endless victories. There will be challenges and setbacks this year. Greater is not an automatic decision, it is a daily decision. Every day you choose to do more and never settle for less.
If you continue to do the right thing every day, it will add up to greater results. One positive practice is to take time each day to grow in your faith by reading devotions from my new book, “Greater.” This will inspire you to keep believing in something bigger in your life.
