President Trump Names Team To Work With Treasury Nominee Scott

President-elect Trump announced several administration changes Thursday, including a team that will work with incoming Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

President Trump announced in a post on Truth Social that Ken Keyes will become assistant secretary for tax policy.

Mr. Keith has been a tax attorney for 47 years and has served as Chief of Staff on the Joint Committee on Taxation and as the top Republican tax advisor on the House Ways and Means Committee.

Alexandra Plate, who President Trump appointed as a senior advisor to the Secretary of State, also joins the team.

President Trump said Preet is an outstanding public relations executive.

President Trump appointed Hunter McMaster as director of policy planning and Daniel Katz as chief of staff.

Trump wrote that Katz is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a graduate of Yale University. Mr. Katz also served as a senior advisor to the Treasury Department.

President Trump has appointed Samantha Schwab, who worked in the White House Legislative Office during the president-elect’s first term, as his Treasury Department chief of staff.

President Trump said the team was “all incredibly hard-working patriots who will work tirelessly to make America great again.”

In addition to the Treasury Department appointments, President Trump announced that Benjamin Leon James will be the next U.S. ambassador to Spain.

“Benjamin is a highly successful entrepreneur, equestrian, and philanthropist. He came to the United States from communist Cuba at the age of 16 with just $5 in his pocket and started his own company, Leon Medical. “He has built the Center into an incredible company. A business,” Trump wrote.

“He has helped support many worthy causes, including La Liga Contra el Cancer and important medical research at Johns Hopkins University and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”

President Trump also nominated Joe Popolo to be the next U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands.

Popolo helped transform the Freeman Company into what President Trump has called “the world’s premier live event brand experience company.”

Mr. Popolo is also the founder and CEO of Charles & Potomac Capital, LLC. Chairman of the Board of Pinnacle Live, LLC. and as a director of Ondus Holdings.

“Joe is the recipient of the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Dallas Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO Award,” President Trump wrote. “He is a proud alumnus of Boston University, a member of its Board of Trustees, and a patron of the arts at the Vatican Museums.”

President Trump also appointed Cora Alvi as deputy chief of staff.

Trump said Alvi most recently served as Donald J. Trump’s deputy national finance director at President.
