Bill Bachenberg Elected as NRA President: A New Era Begins
Transformative Leadership for the NRA
In a pivotal moment for the National Rifle Association (NRA), Bill Bachenberg has been appointed as the new President. This decision was made during the NRA’s 2025 Annual Meeting, which attracted over 70,000 attendees to Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center.
Bachenberg, known for his leadership within the organization and his background as a successful businessman from Pennsylvania, previously held the position of First Vice President. He has also played a significant role in initiatives like the 2020 “Sportsmen for Trump” coalition and the “Hunt The Vote” campaign, which was a collaboration with Hunter Nation.
Commitment to the Second Amendment
“I’m proud of the enduring spirit of the millions of NRA members who have stood strong with the organization through the challenges of recent years,” stated Bachenberg. “I’m humbled to help lead the NRA into a future we can all take pride in.”
Bachenberg’s election is seen as a strategic move aimed at reinvigorating the NRA’s mission. Hunter Nation has hailed this development as a significant victory for hunters nationwide. Donald Trump Jr., a board member of Hunter Nation, described Bachenberg’s appointment as “a positive, and much needed step in the right direction for the NRA.”
Ted Nugent, another board member and staunch advocate of Second Amendment rights, remarked, “The election of Bill Bachenberg is proof that the NRA’s 2.0 strategy is in the best hands possible, and the mighty NRA is back on a True North path!”
Board Elections and Future Directions
“This Association is moving forward, full speed ahead,” commented Doug Hamlin, who was unanimously reelected as NRA Executive Vice President & CEO, emphasizing a commitment to support shooting sports, firearms training, and the defense of self-defense rights.
During the meeting, the Board also elected Mark Vaughan from Oklahoma as First Vice President and Rocky Marshall from Texas as Second Vice President. Other key appointments included:
- John Commerford (NRA-ILA)
- Josh Savani (General Operations)
- Sonya B. Rowling (Treasurer)
- Robert Mensinger (Chief Compliance Officer)
- John C. Frazer (Secretary)
The upcoming NRA Annual Meeting will take place in Houston, Texas, from April 17 to 19, 2026, as the organization looks to maintain momentum and engagement.
