The greatest country in the history of the world has endured four years of crippling inflation, wide-open borders, failure on the world stage, rising crime, rejection of common sense, and a steady diet of radical woke ideology. That’s where it was. But six weeks ago, Americans boldly declared that they had had enough. 77 million voters handed President-elect Donald Trump a landslide political victory. He won the popular vote, captured every battleground state, and gained an undeniable mandate to restore America’s power and prosperity.
Republicans were also given control of both chambers of Congress to help President Trump implement his America First policies from day one. The appalling failures of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi must be addressed immediately.
Americans cannot afford to wait for relief when their lives and livelihoods are at risk. As Republican leadership in Congress, we have prepared an aggressive plan to remove all obstacles and provide a glide path for President Trump’s reform and policy agenda. He intends to use his executive powers to quickly prioritize the many crises left behind by the Biden administration, but President Trump’s legacy and change will need to be cemented by Congress.
President Trump gives Johnson ‘full and complete support’ ahead of speakership race
With a unified legislative branch, we will be fully committed from the moment the 119th Congress begins. While media pundits have spent the past year deriding the notion of a Republican-controlled Washington, House Republicans have been preparing for this opportunity. We led the drafting of legislative solutions to end the border catastrophe, restore America’s energy advantage, cut taxes for families and job creators, and restore common sense. . And during the campaign, we explained how our principles and ideas would help President Trump turn the country around.
To realize that vision, we must continue to come together. Despite the popularity of President-elect Trump’s campaign promises, Congressional Democrats will do everything in their power to stop us. Major decisions would require near unanimity among House Republicans. We don’t have the time or the votes.
President Trump’s return to Washington, D.C., in 2025 will be much different than when he first arrived in 2017, and things are much different now than they were eight years ago.

Republicans in Congress support President Trump’s America First policy, President Trump’s Cabinet selections and transition strategy have been supported by the public, and world leaders and even former political opponents have welcomed President Trump’s return to power. House leaders will be working with President Trump’s team for months to ensure they follow through on the policy prescriptions necessary to pull the United States back from the brink.
Consider the budget reconciliation process as evidence. In 2017, Congressional Republicans had significant disagreements over the size and scope of the bill. The inability to plan properly limited the president’s ability to carry out his agenda. This time, we have developed an agenda full of ideas that the majority of Americans across the country already support. The only thing standing in the way of successful legislation is Congress itself.
Through reconciliation, we will work to ensure that President Trump has every available resource to stop the deadly surge of illegal aliens invading our country and wreaking havoc on our communities. Masu. We will stop the largest tax increase in American history. We will revitalize the economy and curb Bidennomic inflation. We will restore American energy dominance and dismantle the destructive Green New Deal. And we will reduce the size and scope of government and make it more efficient and accountable again.
There is good reason for there to be a palpable sense of excitement and renewed hope in this country. The American people are ready to stop losing and start winning again, and now is the time.

Today is a new day for our country, and we have laid the groundwork in Congress for President Trump to come roaring back. No one expects our transformation plans to be easy, but nothing of value is ever easy.
